Late 19thc Large Ebony Chinese Pot Stand

A late 19thc large ebony Chinese hardwood pot stand with a marble insert.

The marble has a reddish/pink tone & is recessed into the top, surrounded by a carved floral decoration & ball bead carving.

There is a moulding with piercing & a frieze with gadrooning and intricate foliage carving leading to the top corners of the legs.

The top of the legs have a face of an open-mouthed dragon leading down to foliage carved decoration.

There is a circular, dished shelf leading down to ball & claw feet.

This table is ideal for displaying items or stands very well on its own.

These tables were made in the latter part of the 19thc mainly for the export market.
