19th Century French Carved Oak Bookcase Buffet De Corp

19th century
Sold by Elmgarden
Description

A Superbly Carved French Buffet de Corp, this Carved Oak Game and Harvest Cupboard would make a superb bookcase

The upper section of the Cupboard or Trophy Cupboard has two carved doors enclosing a shelved cupboard these are carved with birds and fish

There are more Carvings on the lower section of the bookcase, the base has 2 drawers with Lions mask handles on the front and the interior of the cupboard is shelved

The Bookcase is very tall but it breaks down into three pieces for transportation, I have included pictures of it assembled with out the centre section, it works just as well this way and would not be too high for most modern rooms

The Bookcase has a solid back; it is in sound condition apart from age related wear

The Cupboard is 91” high, 56” wide and 22” deep, or if the middle section is omitted it is 74” high

Declaration

Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
