A really top quality William IV commode cabinet. The commode is disguised as a cabinet with cupboard base and drawers above, all is done to a wonderful level of cabinet work with fielded panel doors and escutcheons, the drawers are all cockbeaded and have turned wooden knobs, and all is veneered with the most lovely flame figured mahogany. The top lifts up and the interior has now been lined with baise to make an excellent storage space or even drinks cabinet. This is a superb piece of period furniture which would have been made for a great house, and while it has lost it''s old use, it has a new use and remains a useable attractive piece of period furniture.
