Description

Robert Thorne Waite RWS 1842-1935.Landscape artist working mainly in watercolour.Exhibited at RA from 1870,SS,NWS,GG,NG but mostly at OWS.Elected ARWS 1876,OWS 1884.Painted pastoral scenes in Yorkshire and Surrey.An important exhibition of his work was held by the Bourne Gallery ,Reigate,Surrey in 1976.The River Kennet is the most important Chalk Stream in the country and is some 45 miles long and is also the largest tributary of the River Thames. ‘ River Kennet’ signed watercolour,inscribed with title on the mount; image size 14x24.5 cms,framed size 38x48.5 cms.Housed in original decorative gilt frame.
