Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A compactum triple wardrobe is a 19th-century storage piece featuring three sections, typically combining hanging space, shelves, and internal drawers or linen trays. Popularised during the Victorian era, these substantial pieces provided comprehensive clothes storage within a single cabinet.

Craftspeople predominantly constructed Victorian wardrobes using dense hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, and oak, often featuring decorative burr walnut or flame mahogany veneers. High-end examples incorporate hand-cut dovetail joints, solid timber carcasses, and original mirrored glass panels.

Authentic 19th-century pieces display distinctive book-matched burr walnut grain patterns, hand-planed timber backs, and period-correct brass hardware or stamped maker marks on drawer edges. Construction details like thick veneer layers and hand-carved mouldings further confirm age.

Position the wardrobe as a focal architectural anchor in a master bedroom or spacious dressing room. Balance its dark wood tones with neutral wall palettes, soft linen textiles, and understated contemporary lighting to let the historic timber grain stand out.

Preserve burr walnut veneer by keeping the furniture away from direct sunlight and central heating radiators to prevent drying or lifting. Apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the natural grain, and clean surfaces gently with a dry cotton cloth.
