This superb early 19th-century oil on panel portrait depicts a beautiful young aristocratic lady seated beside an open window, with her sewing implements arranged before her.

Executed with exceptional precision, the painting is a wonderful example of the finely detailed portraiture of the period. The sitter is elegantly attired in a sumptuous silk-lined gown, while her strawberry-blonde hair is gracefully gathered into a ponytail.
