Lee Hawkins Antiques & Interiors has dated this French Kingwood Vitrine Cabinet to the 19th Century.
Expertly crafted in beautifully figured kingwood veneers, this elegant vitrine showcases a graceful serpentine form with shaped glazed doors, curved glass side panels and a richly decorated bombe lower section. The cabinet is adorned throughout with finely cast ormolu mounts, delicate gilt bronze mouldings and exquisite Vernis Martin style hand-painted panels depicting romantic pastoral scenes and floral decoration.
Whether displaying fine porcelain, crystal, silver, objets d'art or antique collectibles, this cabinet provides an exceptional showcase whilst serving as a remarkable decorative statement in its own right.

Particularly striking are the beautifully painted romantic scenes and the extensive gilt bronze ornamentation, reflecting the influence of the celebrated Vernis Martin workshops whose decorative lacquer panels became highly sought after throughout Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries.
