Wakelin and Linfield has dated this Jamaican Parquetry Work Table to the 19th Century.
The outer edges of the top follow the geometric designs of the lid and are executed with incredibly fine attention to detail. The whole raised on a tapered hexagonal stem terminating in a triform base with beautifully carved lion paw feet. This table is almost certainly attributable to Ralph Turnbull, Jamaica. C.1825 - Label with wax seal to the underside - also inscribed "Boley Hill E. Hayward".
