A Large Carved and Gilded Rococo Mirror

Description

Circa 1870. An interesting Rococo wall mirror which includes a pair of candle sconces, carved and gilded in gesso, the top surmounted by a flower on a pierced and carved Rococo background with draping branches and foliate cast to the sides. The oval mirrors contained in foliate frames with extended C and S scrolls, the sides pierced with gilded flowers and branches throughout, the center section with a pair of gilded, curved arms with the candle holders in the form of flower petals, finishing with a pierced, carved and gilded base.
