Minerva Antiques Ltd has dated this Mahogany Bow Front Chest to the 1860s.
The curved drawer fronts give the chest a softer architectural profile, while the polished mahogany shows warm reddish-brown tones, darker figuring and surface variation consistent with age.
The chest stands on swept bracket feet with a shaped apron below, giving it a light stance regardless of its useful storage capacity. The drawer interiors are in pale secondary timber, with visible dovetail joints indicating traditional cabinet construction. Well suited to bedroom storage, a hallway, landing or sitting room, it offers the practicality of a classic antique chest while retaining enough restraint to sit comfortably alongside 20th-century furniture, leather seating, patterned textiles or a more layered country house interior.
