Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian Good Luck candlesticks are late nineteenth-century cast brass candleholders featuring stamped or embossed auspicious motifs, most commonly horseshoes and the text Good Luck. They were produced in Britain as popular decorative domestic gifts during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.

These pieces were typically hollow-cast in brass using multi-part moulds, featuring threaded central rods or solder joins connecting turned baluster sections to a cast octagonal or square base.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-stamped lettering or registration marks on the base, minor casting irregularities inside the stem, and natural wear or residual polishing compound in the carved recesses.

Pairing turned brass candleholders on a minimalist fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard top, or dining table provides a warm metallic accent that bridges traditional character with contemporary styling.

Remove accumulated candle wax by immersing the bases in hot water to melt the residue, then dry thoroughly before applying a gentle non-abrasive metal polish with a soft cloth.
