Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian sterling silver teapots, produced during the reigns of George I through George IV, evolved from pear-shaped forms to straight-sided oval or octagonal Neoclassical silhouettes. They frequently feature bright-cut engraving, wooden handles to prevent heat transfer, and delicate cartouches.

These vessels were crafted from sterling silver raised by hand from flat sheet metal. Handles and lid finials were commonly made from dense hardwoods such as ebony or stained fruitwood to insulate the heat of hot liquids.

Authentic British pieces bear a full set of hallmark stamps usually found on the base or underside of the lid. These markings typically include the makers mark, the sterling lion passant, the town mark, and a date letter denoting the year of manufacture.

A Georgian silver teapot functions well as a focal accent on a sideboard top, a library shelf, or integrated into a curated display cabinet. Its reflective surface and clean Neoclassical lines complement both traditional dark wood interiors and modern settings.

Clean the silver using a gentle silver polish applied with a soft cotton cloth, avoiding harsh scrubbing over engraved details. Keep wooden handles dry and store the piece in a dry, tarnish-inhibiting cloth bag when not on display.
