Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian sterling silver teapots were produced in Britain between 1714 and 1830. They typically feature hand-chased, engraved, or repousse ornamentation, straight spouts or subtle scroll curves, and carved hardwood or ebony handles designed to insulate against heat.

These teapots were crafted primarily from solid sterling silver, which is 92.5 percent pure silver mixed with copper for durability. The handles and lid finials were commonly made from dense hardwoods like ebony, fruitwood, or rosewood to prevent heat conduction.

Authentic British Georgian silver carries official hallmarks stamped into the metal, including the lion passant mark for sterling purity, a town mark such as the London leopards head, a date letter, a monarchs duty mark, and an individual makers mark.

An antique silver teapot can be placed on a dining sideboard, drinks trolley, or kitchen dresser tray to introduce historical texture. It pairs well alongside contemporary glassware, dark timber surfaces, or neutral linen backdrop settings.

Silver should be wiped gently using a soft cotton cloth and specialized non-abrasive silver polish to prevent tarnish. Wooden components must be kept dry and never submerged in water or subjected to harsh liquid detergents.
