We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III silver teapot refers to a tea vessel produced in Great Britain during the reign of King George III, spanning from 1760 to 1820. These pieces often feature Neoclassical shapes, bright-cut engraving, straight or lobed sides, and heat-isolating wooden handles.

These teapots were crafted primarily from sterling silver, stamped with British hallmark proof of purity. Handles and lid finials were frequently carved from dark hardwoods, ebony, or fruitwood to prevent thermal conduction during use.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the hallmark sequence struck into the body or base, which typically includes the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling purity, the town mark, a date letter, and the duty mark showing the monarchs head.

An antique silver teapot can be displayed atop a sideboard, tray, or within a glass cabinet as a sculptural centerpiece. Placing it alongside contemporary ceramics or dark wood surfaces highlights the metallic lustre and historical craftsmanship.

Regular dusting with a soft microfiber cloth prevents tarnish build-up, while specialised non-abrasive silver polish should be applied gently to clean oxidised areas. Avoid submerging wooden handles in water to prevent warping and cracking over time.
