Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian display cabinets, produced between 1901 and 1910, are characterised by lighter, more delicate proportions than earlier Victorian pieces. They frequently utilise mahogany timber adorned with satinwood or boxwood string inlay, refined astragal glazing, and fabric-lined interiors intended to showcase porcelain and glassware.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted using solid mahogany and mahogany veneers. Decorative elements utilised satinwood, rosewood, or ebony for marquetry and stringing, while interior surfaces were often lined with patterned silk or damask fabric behind hand-cut glass door panels.

Authentic pieces exhibit early 20th-century construction markers, such as hand-cut dovetail joints on internal drawer frames, original brass escutcheons or locks, thin timber glazing bars, and natural timber oxidisation on unpolished rear panels.

A glazed mahogany cabinet can be positioned against neutral, painted walls to highlight its wood grain and silhouette. It serves as storage for curated contemporary ceramics, art books, or glassware in living rooms, dining spaces, or wider hallways.

Dust timber surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish annually along the wood grain. Clean glass panels using a microfibre cloth and a mild glass cleaner applied directly to the cloth to prevent liquid from seeping into the timber glazing bars or interior lining.
