Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A GPO fusee wall clock is a mechanical precision timepiece produced for the General Post Office in Britain during the 19th and early 20th centuries, utilising a conical fusee gear system to maintain precise power output.

These timepieces are constructed with solid turned mahogany or oak surrounds, a cast brass bezel with a glass lens, a painted sheet metal dial, and heavy brass movement plates driven by a steel chain.

Authentic examples feature dial markings such as G.P.O., a royal cypher such as GVR, stamped production numbers on the wooden case or back door, and a single chain-driven fusee movement.

Mount the clock as a focal piece on a neutral wall, above a console table or within a curated hallway display, pairing warm timber tones with brushed brass or contemporary black metal accents.

Ensure the movement is wound regularly using the correct key size, keep the clock in a temperature-stable environment away from damp, and dust the wooden surround using a natural beeswax polish.
