Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A fusee drop dial clock is a mechanical timepiece featuring a circular clock face above an extended lower wooden housing, known as a drop trunk, which accommodates the pendulum swing. The fusee mechanism uses a cone-shaped pulley to equalize the force transmitted from the mainspring, ensuring accurate timekeeping.

These timepieces are constructed with solid or veneered timber cases, frequently mahogany or oak, housing brass mechanical movements. The dial is typically painted sheet iron secured behind a brass bezel with a glass protective lens.

Authentic pieces from the early twentieth century often display royal cyphers or maker marks on the dial, heavy cast brass bezels, hand-painted Roman numerals, and robust fusee movements with chain or gut lines rather than modern battery mechanisms.

A traditional drop dial clock serves as a focal point on a neutral accent wall, suspended above a sideboard or positioned within a narrow hallway space to balance modern architectural lines with historical craftsmanship.

The mechanical movement requires professional horological servicing every five to seven years to clean and oil the gears. The wooden casing should be dusted regularly with a soft cloth and conditioned with natural beeswax polish, avoiding ammonia-based glass cleaners near painted dials.
