London City Antiques has dated these Edwardian Mahogany Dining Chairs to the 1900s.

The shaped shield backs are beautifully designed with finely pierced and carved splats centred by carved shell detail terminals. The chairs stand upon elegant square tapering legs united by stretchers with the carvers having graceful shaped arms. The rich mahogany frames have a lovely warm colour and excellent quality throughout, exactly what you would expect from Maple & Co who were one of England’s finest cabinet makers and furnishers during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.

The chairs have been newly upholstered in a tasteful quality fabric finished with decorative braid edging and are both comfortable and highly practical for everyday use. Their elegant shield back design allows them to work beautifully within both traditional and contemporary interiors.

A highly desirable set of genuine quality antique dining chairs by one of England’s most sought after makers.
