Pair of 19th-century Oak Bookcases 6' Wide

Description

Pair of mid 19th century oak bookcases, effectively a matched pair, each with a raised gallery back featuring detailed floral carving. The carcasses have stopped reeding, repeated on the gallery uprights. Each bookcase is fitted with four adjustable shelves using brass bookcase studs. The shelves are unusually thick at 1 inch, with a moulded hinged lip to the front allowing adjustment for taller books. The internal shelf space measures 73 cm high by 83 cm wide. The pair stand on bun feet with carved ears between. Good overall condition with age-related wear. Structurally sound. Please see photos and video for detail.

We source and lovingly restore unique one-off pieces, using traditional hand finishing techniques.

In our specialist restoration workshop, we put the craftsman at the heart of what we do with care, authenticity and pride.

You can arrange your own transport or collect in person. We ship worldwide and have extensive experience of wrapping carefully so you can shop with confidence! We often deliver for free to mainland UK - please contact us to discuss.

You can also view items at our restoration workshop by appointment only.

Our lighting has all been lovingly restored, tested and earthed but will need to be installed by a qualified electrician. All of our furniture has been through our antique restoration workshop.
