Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III breakfront side table is an eighteenth-century English accent table produced during the reign of King George III (17601820). It is characterized by a facade where the central drawer or section steps forward or recedes from the outer wings.

Georgian tables were predominantly constructed from dense timbers such as West Indian mahogany or oak. Secondary woods used for interior drawer linings typically included pine or oak, accompanied by cast brass handles and iron drawer locks.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints on drawer construction, hand-sawn timber marks on unrefined undersides, and natural wood shrinkage along the grain. Hardware often shows hand-chased details and oxidation consistent with age.

A Georgian side table works well as an entryway console or hallway focal point when placed beneath a contemporary mirror or large artwork. The rich timber provides a warm anchor alongside minimalist or modern neutral decor.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a soft microfiber cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep the table away from direct sunlight, radiators, and strong humidity fluctuations to prevent wood warping or finish degradation.
