A beautiful 19th Century giltwood hall or pier mirror of grand proportions and of exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of oval form is set within a finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame with fabulous bands of lambs tongue and guilloche decorative motif detail throughout. Surmounted with an intricately pierced centred crest composition of a cabochon with foliate, scrolls, ruffles and beaded row detail flanked with stunning trailing foliate and berries, the apron features a further exquisite arrangement of centred foliate with leaves, berries and bell husks, all finely carved in high relief.
