Canonbury Antiques has dated these Mahogany Wellington Chest Drawers to the 1860s.
All the drawers can be locked at once via the side piece that covers the front of the drawers

Bought from a private house sale in London's Holland Park
One side retains the characteristic locking bar with working key, designed to secure all drawers simultaneously a defining feature of the Wellington chest

The top drawer is deeper, with the remaining drawers graduating below, providing practical and well-organised storage
The chest is flanked by carved decorative corbels beneath the top moulding, adding architectural detail and enhancing the strong vertical lines of the design

Raised on a plinth base, the piece demonstrates the solid construction and quality craftsmanship associated with early 19th-century English furniture
Compact yet highly practical, this William IV Wellington chest would work beautifully in a bedroom, study, or hallway where space is limited but storage is required, while the rich mahogany tones give the piece timeless traditional appeal
