Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
This wonderful, large scale antique hand cut stone watering trough was made for a North Yorkshire early 18th century Country House property where it was made for and has been ever since in the middle of the large estate stable yard. A very rare example in fabulous condition with no damage at all.
Would make a stunning centrepiece to a garden, courtyard or parterre. The surface is beautifully hand cut and all a lovely colour. Imagine the hours this would have taken to hand chisel from a single block of stone. Fine craftsmanship, a beautiful Yorkshire Georgian antique stone trough in a rare oval shape / design, a more formal example, not a field trough. Easy to deliver, on a pallet.
