An overmantel mirror is a large architectural mirror designed specifically to hang or rest directly above a fireplace mantelpiece. Popularised during the 18th and 19th centuries, these pieces were constructed to reflect candlelight, maximize daylight, and serve as the central visual focal point in formal drawing rooms.
