Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Louis XVI and Directoire mantel clocks reflect the Neoclassical movement of late 18th-century France, featuring symmetrical forms, classical architectural columns, urn motifs, and geometric balance influenced by Greco-Roman antiquities.

These timepieces were typically crafted using solid black marble, white statuary marble, or alabaster, paired with finely cast gilt bronze or brass mounts and hand-painted enamel dials.

Authentic pieces display period-correct clock movements, hand-engraved or painted signatures on the enamel dial, geometric Neoclassical proportions, and authentic oxidisation on metal fittings.

A Neoclassical marble clock functions as a focal centerpiece on a marble fireplace mantelpiece, styled alongside contemporary artwork, brass candlesticks, or minimalist ceramics to balance historical detail with modern clean lines.

Marble surfaces should be dusted with a soft, lint-free cloth and cleaned using pH-neutral stone soap, avoiding acid-based cleaners. Metal mounts require gentle dusting rather than abrasive polish to preserve the historical patina.
