Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating around the turn of the 20th century, these cabinets draw inspiration from 18th-century classical designs such as Sheraton and Hepplewhite styles. They are characterized by a curved front elevation, glazed upper display sections with geometric astragal glazing bars, and solid cupboard bases crafted from rich hardwoods.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany or walnut, embellished with flame wood veneers, satinwood crossbanding, or geometric inlays. Assembly relied on traditional joinery methods, including hand-cut dovetail drawers, panelling, hand-glazed glass panes, and solid brass hardware.

Authentic period pieces often feature subtle hand-cut dovetails inside drawers, original brass lock mechanisms, and maker stamps or metal plaques from notable workshops such as Maple & Co. The glass panes may exhibit slight imperfections, bubbles, or distortion indicative of early glass production methods.

Positioned as a focal piece in a dining room, living area, or home library, a glazed cabinet creates contrast against neutral walls. The glass shelves allow for curated displays of contemporary ceramics, glassware, or art books alongside heritage objects.

Dust surfaces regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth, following the direction of the wood grain. Protect the timber finish by applying a thin coat of high-quality beeswax once or twice a year, and clean glass doors using a mild vinegar solution applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly.
