Description:
This a good quality antique English Victorian whatnot, constructed from solid mahogany, comprising two tiers with a drawer, circa 1860, in very good condition. Ideal as a display stand, bedside table or even printer table in the home office. Comprising a thumb-moulded top, supported by four elegantly turned columns, with a shelf and working drawer below. The working drawer retains its original turned knobs and is constructed with mahogany linings and hand-dovetail joints. The Victorian whatnot stands on its original bulbous turned feet, which terminate on its original brass socket cups and ceramic castors.
Condition Report:
This a good quality antique English Victorian whatnot, constructed from solid mahogany, comprising two tiers with a drawer, circa 1860, in very good condition. Nominal old use marks and light scratches to the top shelf and leading edges but nothing significant considering its age. The mahogany display stand has been cleaned and wax-polished to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore, it boasts a stunning colour, whilst retaining its original patination. The drawer is in good working condition; it retains its original drawer knobs and closes flush to the frame. The turned feet and castors are original and in excellent condition. This Victorian whatnot is solid in joint and ready to use.
