Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A gueridon is a circular side or centre table originating in 17th-century France, supported by a central column or pedestal base. During the Regency and Empire periods, these tables frequently incorporated marble tops, brass fittings, and classical architectural proportions.

Tables from circa 1830 commonly feature mahogany frame construction faced with flame mahogany veneers, topped with polished veined marble slabs. Decorative elements frequently included cast brass collars, fluted central columns, and hand-carved tripod bases with scrolled feet.

Authentic period pieces display traditional joinery beneath the apron, original brass hardware with natural age-related patination, and hand-cut timber veneers. The marble top typically exhibits hand-finished edges, tool marks on the underside, and natural surface veining.

Place the table in an entryway or foyer as a central focal point styled with a single ceramic vessel or floral arrangement. Alternatively, position it within a large bay window or corner space to introduce warmth through mahogany timber tones and natural marble textures.

Clean the marble surface using a pH-neutral stone cleaner and absorb liquid spills immediately to prevent etching. Dust the mahogany pedestal with a soft microfibre cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish periodically to protect the timber finish.
