Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Caucasian rugs originate from the Caucasus region between the Black and Caspian Seas, woven primarily by nomadic and village weavers. They are celebrated for their bold geometric patterns, primary colour palettes derived from natural dyes, and hand-knotted wool construction.

Traditional Caucasian rugs were woven entirely from locally sourced, hand-spun wool for both the pile and the foundation. Dyes were derived from natural organic sources, including madder root for reds, indigo for blues, and plant larks for yellows.

Authentic antique Caucasian pieces feature a completely wool warp and weft structure, subtle dye variations known as abrash, and slight asymmetry in their hand-woven geometric designs. The presence of natural vegetable dyes and knotting techniques specific to the region further verify age and origin.

A geometric tribal runner adds graphic interest and warmth to narrow spaces such as hallways, entryways, or along the side of a bed. Pairing the bold pattern with neutral walls or timber flooring allows the textile to serve as a focal anchor within both modern and traditional interiors.

Vacuum the rug gently using a suction-only setting without a rotary brush bar to avoid pulling the fibers. Place a high-quality rug pad underneath to reduce friction and wear, and consult a specialist antique carpet restorer for professional cleaning.
