This 19th century Karachov Kazak is a collectors favourite. The red madder is the perfect backdrop for the rhythmic leaf and calyx border which includes aubergine, that glides between the jagged guardlines. Tribal 'stamps' and latched-hook motifs are carefully placed across the field, to make sure it balances around the anchor of the ivory medallion.
