In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the early 18th century, Queen Anne chests of drawers typically feature figured walnut veneers, herringbone or feather line inlays, brass drop handles with decorative escutcheons, and rest on turned bun feet.

Cabinetmakers utilised solid oak or pine carcases veneered with English walnut or burr walnut, joined using hand-cut dovetail joints, featuring oak-lined drawers and cast brass hardware.

Look for thick, hand-sawn walnut veneers, hand-cut dovetail joints with wide spacing, oak drawer linings with grain running front-to-back, and evidence of original brassware fixings.

Position the piece against modern painted panelling or muted walls, layering the top surface with ceramic lamps, contemporary stoneware, or framed modern artwork to balance the historic timber tones.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, avoiding direct heat sources, bright sunlight, and chemical solvents that dry out timber veneers.
