Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the late 19th century, these cabinets were engineered to utilise room corners while displaying china or glassware behind glazed doors. They frequently feature neoclassical inlay motifs, astragal glazing, and pediment tops influenced by 18th-century Chippendale and Sheraton designs.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany and mahogany veneers over pine or oak frames. Decorative features incorporated wood marquetry, satinwood stringing, brass hinges, and glass panels secured by timber glazing bars.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints on internal drawer elements, subtle irregularities in original glass panes, and secondary woods such as pine or oak inside the back casing. Natural oxidation and light wear around handles and base rails are also present.

Place the cabinet in an underutilised corner of a dining room or living space to add vertical structure without taking up central floor space. Display ceramics, glassware, or curated books inside to create a visual contrast against the dark timber.

Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and damp walls to prevent timber shrinkage or veneer lifting. Dust regularly with a lint-free cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish annually to protect the surface finish.
