A rare 18th century Italian Grand Tour patinated bronze of The Infant Hercules Strangling Two Serpents, after the antique 1st century AD original marble statue now housed in the Tribuna, Uffizi, Florence. Another version from the same period but a fountain can be seen in the Hermitage in St Petersburg. Typically rough 18th century casting with a dark almost black patination mounted on a later early 19th century Sienna marble block base.
