Clockwise has dated this Railway Fusee Wall Clock to the 1900s.

The superbly restored 12 inch dial bears the same details as the identifying oval brass plaque to the side of the clock. Whilst the clock dates from the 1900s the original dial has been repainted by the Doncaster clock works when the railways underwent significant operational changes

With a rare ebonised finish this truly is a striking piece of furniture. The case benefits from stabilising hooks, a lower and side door (both locking) and the dial section is paired to the back box in a standard design. Original spade hands behind a spun brass bezel complete the impressive appearance.

This is a lovely find so enjoy this clock whilst you can. I have more railway clocks arriving very shortly.
