Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Baluch rugs were traditionally woven by nomadic Baluch tribes living in the border regions of eastern Persia and western Afghanistan. These rugs frequently feature geometric prayer arch designs, known as mihrabs, created for daily religious practice.

Baluch rugs are hand-knotted using locally sourced sheep wool for the pile, woven onto a wool or goat hair warp and weft foundation. Dyes are historically derived from natural plant and mineral sources, producing deep tones of red, indigo, brown, and camel.

Authentic pieces display soft, flexible hand-knotted foundations, low wool pile, and a dark colour palette dominated by indigo and deep red. Specific design hallmarks include an arched mihrab motif, geometric repeating patterns, and decorative woven kilim end-skirts.

Tribal rugs are often placed in entryways, studies, or layered over neutral flat-weave carpets to introduce colour and texture. They can also be displayed as wall hangings to highlight intricate knotting and geometric hand-woven patterns.

Vacuum gently using suction only without a rotating beater bar to prevent fibre damage. Rotate the rug regularly to ensure even wear, address spills immediately with a clean dry cloth, and seek professional rug cleaning specialists for deep treatment.
