Percy Brooke 1869-1916.Landscape artist who painted mainly in watercolour.After studying in London he set up a studio in Blackburn.Also lived in Staithes,which was home to an artists colony in the nineteenth century.Exhibited 1894-1916 at the RA ,RBA,Royal Institute of Paintets in Watercolour and the Walker Art Gallery,Liverpool.This fine example forms a pair to another example by the artist in stock ‘Awaiting the Return of the Fleet,Possibly Staithes’. ‘Bringing in the Catch,possibly Staithes,Yorkshire’ signed watercolour dated 1902,image size 20x26.5 cms,framed size 46x56.5 cms
