Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the mid-19th century, Rococo Revival furniture drew inspiration from 18th-century French designs, characterised by sweeping S-curve cabriole legs, serpentine fronts, and ornate wood carving.

High-end 19th-century console tables were predominantly constructed from dense hardwoods such as solid mahogany or rosewood, often featuring rich flame mahogany veneers and hand-carved ornamental mouldings.

Authentic period pieces show evidence of hand-carving along the frieze and legs, hand-cut joinery on supporting frames, natural age-related shrinkage in the timber, and a genuine aged patina on the underside and reverse sides.

A pair of matching console tables can be styled symmetrically flanking a fireplace, positioned in a spacious grand hallway with large decorative mirrors hung above them, or placed behind a modern sofa to anchor an open-plan room.

Maintain polished hardwood tables by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber movement.
