Anglo-indian Ebonised Elephant Table

1900 - 1920
Description

A good example of an anglo-endian elephant table dating from the early 20th Century. It has a round top with three large carved elephant heads below, complete with wooden tusks. It stands on three legs carved and shaped as elephant's trunks, joined by a lower shelf. It is made from a dense hardwood and has its original ebonised finish.

It is a nice small size, ideal as a plant stand or lamp table.

It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. There is slight wear to the finish here and there and some minor surface marks commensurate with age but nothing detrimental and no major damages. It has been lightly polished and it is ready for use.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
