Description

Joseph Kirkpatrick 1872-1936.Landscape painter,watercolourist and engraver.He was born in Liverpool where he studied at the School of Art under John Finnie.He also studied at the Academie Julian in Paris under Bouguereau and Gabriel Ferrier.He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1898 and 1932,at the Walker Art Gallery ,Liverpool and elsewhere.He lived in London for a number of years before he moved to Arundel in Sussex in 1916. ‘ The Tweed at Abbotsford’ signed watercolour,dated 1897;image size 17x22 cms,framed size 34x49 cms.Original gilt frame and mount.
