French Repeating Carriage Clock Enamel Flower Design 1890s

Description

Hi

I have for sale an 1890 French enamel flower inlay carriage clock made in France which has been fully restored both movement and case in December 2023.

This is a genuine French carriage clock not a modern reproduction.

The Case

The case is in solid brass and stands 16cm high x 8cm wide with a depth of 7cm it is in mint perfect condition with mint thick bevelled glass front and top viewing glass.

The enamel flowers run right down the front pillars and the dial is hand painted swags of flowers which is quite a rare feature on these clocks.

The clock retains the original base plate.

The Dial

The dial is in untouched original condition with Arabic numerals and the original ornate moon hands housed in a beautiful painted flower design it is simply stunning.

The Movement

The movement is an eight day time and strike so strikes the hours and half, the movement has been ultra sonic cleaned , hand polished ,serviced and oiled so keeping great time over the eight days via the original silvered platform.

This clock also has a working repeater function.

Overall a very rare beautiful quality carriage clock by a quality French maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days.
