Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Pembroke table is a light, portable form of occasional table introduced in the 18th century, featuring two hinged drop leaves that can be raised to extend the surface area and typically housing a single drawer.

Primary cabinet woods such as mahogany or satinwood were commonly used, often detailed with boxwood or ebony stringing and veneers, alongside solid oak or pine drawer linings and original brass hardware.

Authentic 18th-century examples display hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers, wooden fly-rail supports for the flaps, hand-turned brass castors, and natural age-related patination across the timber.

Positioned at the end of a sofa or in a reading corner, a Pembroke table functions as a flexible side surface that provides compact storage with the leaves lowered or extended surface area when entertaining.

Apply a natural beeswax polish twice yearly along the direction of the wood grain, clean regularly with a soft dry cloth, and keep the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent shrinkage or warping.
