Victorian Silver Fancy Link Albert Watch Chain - 1888

Description

A Victorian sterling silver fancy link albert watch chain, and Belgium Léopold I 20 Centimes coin.

Period: - Late 19th Century.

Year: - 1888.

Engraving: - Unengraved.

Measurement: - 15 5/16 inches (38.7cm) in length end to end. The links measure 6.5mm in width (at widest point).

Weight: - 31.9 grams.

Condition: - The sterling silver albert chain is in good antique condition - light tarnishing. The chain links are hallmarked with the lion passant. The dog clip closes securely. The T-bar, and dog-clip are hallmarked with the makers marks 'H.P', and date letter 'o' to denote 1888. The chain is hallmarked to one of the links with Birmingham marks, and date letter 'o' for 1888. The makers mark to the chain is rubbed. The coin is rubbed and appears to be dated 1853 (but unable to confirm as the date has been drilled through). Please see photographs for confirmation of condition.
