Description

Remarkable early 19th.c. mahogany marble top and parcel gilt console table with mirrors, probably Italian c.1820. Large gilt frame mirror topped with a superb neo-Classical frieze, moulded gesso decoration and raised on large claw feet. Over a white marble top console table with a single long drawer raised on an exceptional pair of carved gilded griffins supports at the front. Shaped drawer front (continued at the sides of the table) and the open plinth with concave curved front all veneered in flame mahogany. Raised on large ball feet. Very unusually there is a second smaller mirror which sits inside the base, with the same decoration to the frame as the large mirror with charming gilded brass feet. Excellent condition with original mirror plates and original gilding. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
