Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian longcase clock, commonly referred to as a grandfather clock, is a tall, floor-standing pendulum clock crafted during the Georgian era. These timepieces served as both essential horological instruments and major decorative furniture pieces in traditional residences.

Cabinetry from this period predominantly utilized solid mahogany or oak, often decorated with flame mahogany veneers and inlaid woods. Dials typically incorporated cast brass spandrels, silvered chapter rings, and steel clock hands.

Authentic George III examples feature characteristic architectural details such as swan-neck pediments, brass finials, twisted or fluted quarter columns, and maker signatures engraved onto the dial face or movement arch.

A mahogany longcase clock functions as a strong architectural anchor in a contemporary entrance hall, landing, or dining area. Set against neutral plaster or stone walls, it adds historical depth alongside modern furniture.

Position the clock on a level floor away from direct sunlight, radiators, or damp conditions. Clean the wooden casing with a soft cloth and occasional beeswax, and ensure the mechanical movement is lubricated by a professional horologist every few years.
