A Regency convex mirror is a circular wall mirror originating from the early 19th century, featuring a curved glass lens that reflects an entire room. Often framed in giltwood with decorative ball moulding and an ebonised inner slip, these mirrors were engineered to maximize light distribution in period dining rooms and parlours.

Authentic 19th-century convex mirrors were carved from wood or cast in composition plaster before being finished with water gilding over a layer of gesso. The glass was hand-blown and silvered, held within an inner reeded slip finished in dark ebonised lacquer.
