In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popularised during the early nineteenth century in Britain, a Regency convex mirror features a curved glass plate set within a circular gilded frame, often topped with a carved cresting such as an eagle.

These mirrors are constructed using hand-carved timber coated in gesso and finished with gold leaf gilding, frequently incorporating an ebonised inner slip to frame the convex glass.

Authentic period examples display hand-cut convex glass with minor imperfections, hand-carved wood rather than moulded plaster, and natural wear or oxidisation to the gold leaf and ebonised details.

Position the mirror above a mantelpiece or sideboard to reflect light and create an architectural focal point that complements both contemporary and traditional schemes.

Dust the giltwood frame gently using a soft, dry camel-hair brush, avoiding water or chemical cleaners that could dissolve the delicate gold leaf and underlying gesso layer.
