Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced between 1830 and 1837, William IV dining tables bridge the transition from Regency elegance to Victorian solidity. They typically feature heavy turned pedestals, bold mouldings, and rich timbers such as flame mahogany.

These tables were primarily constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over oak or pine substructures. Hardware such as brass clips, latches, and castors were used to secure leaves and facilitate movement.

Authentic pieces feature substantial turned or lobed columns, quadripartite plinth bases with carved feet, original brass fittings, and natural patination on the timber surface.

To integrate a large mahogany table into contemporary spaces, combine it with modern upholstered dining chairs, place it beneath a contemporary chandelier, and keep tableware minimalist to highlight the timber grain.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry, soft cloth and apply beeswax polish annually along the grain. Protect the timber from direct sunlight, central heating sources, and hot dishes using mats and pads.
