How do you attach a silver bottle ticket tag?

These labels typically hang from a fine silver chain that slips over the neck of a decanter or bottle. The chain allows the tag to suspend freely near the stopper. Buyers should ensure the chain length matches the circumference of the bottle neck they intend to use it on.

What drinks do these labels normally name?

Traditional labels name fortified and aged spirits such as port, sherry, madeira, claret, rum, gin, brandy, and whisky. Some rarer tags name hock, moselle, or cayenne. Makers also produced blank or unusual titles for specific decanting needs.

Can you use antique silver bottle tags daily?

Solid silver labels are durable enough for regular use on dining tables and barware collections. Gentle handling and proper storage prevent the thin silver chains from kinking or snapping. Cleaning should involve non-abrasive silver polish to protect the engraved lettering and details.
