Were these salt pots used daily?

Victorian and Edwardian households utilised these whimsical pieces during formal dining and everyday meals. They added a touch of amusement to the dining table. Many sets remain functional today for serving salt, pepper, and mustard. Modern owners often display them as cabinet pieces when not in active service.
