What periods do these pieces date from?

The pieces span from the 18th century through the Victorian era and into the mid-20th century. Victorian and Edwardian examples appear frequently alongside later 1940s and 1950s interpretations. Dates are determined by stylistic markers, artist signatures, and framing materials typical of each respective decade.

How were these artworks traditionally displayed?

Game bird paintings and carvings were typically hung in country houses, dining rooms, and libraries. They reflected the owner's interest in sporting pursuits and country life. Large still life canvases and carved wood panels served as focal points above sideboards or mantelpieces.
